Where to Spend 4th of July in the Fox Valley

july-4-fireworksLooking for something fun and festive to do this 4th of July weekend? There are tons of events and fireworks shows throughout the Fox Valley for your whole family to enjoy.

Elgin

The City of Elgin 4th of July parade begins at 9AM on Friday, July 4 at the intersections of Slade and Douglas Avenues. Join the City of Elgin in celebrating and honoring those who have served our country with this year’s “Honoring Those Who Serve” parade theme.

Elmhurst

Elmhurst does not have it’s own 4th of July parade or fireworks but don’t miss out on the “4 on the 4th” race. The race begins at 7:15AM on July 4 at the Elmhurst Running Club. This 4-mile race begins on Prospect Avenue and race day registration is $30.

Naperville

You won’t want to miss Naperville’s Ribfest and Fireworks show! Ribfest will be held Thursday, July 3 through Sunday, July 6 in Knoch Park, and the annual 30-minute fireworks show will be held in the evening on Friday, July 4. Residents can also tune into the musical simulcast during the fireworks show by listing to CBS K-HITS 104.3.

St. Charles

Pack a picnic and head to Pottawatomie Park for a fun filled day of 4th of July festivities. Enjoy performances by the Fox Valley Concert Band and Student Body Band beginning at 4:00pm followed by a spectacular fireworks show after dark. Fireworks can be best viewed at Pottawatomie Park or Ferson Creek Park.
