A whole–house air filter integrates directly into the ducts themselves so that all of the heated and cooled air in the home is also filtered. Another option is the electronic air purifier. This device does not use a physical medium to capture particles, but instead relies on an ionized field through which your indoor air passes. Without getting too much into the science, contaminants are given a charge as they pass through, and are then collected on a plate, where they are eventually disposed of.
